 This new way to steal cars is quite high tech and complex, but the risk is still there. Most people do not unlock their car until it is visible, so seeing the culprit in action would be easy. Moreover, this theft was completed by Swiss researchers, so your run-of-the-mill thief would be hard pressed to obtain the details on how to perform this action.

 Nevertheless, opening your car before it is visible is risky. It can lead to a stolen GPS or other personal items in your car.
