Collections Insurance CTAre you a collector? Perhaps you collect baseball cards? Comic books? What about collecting dolls or plates?  Let’s see: if you’re a collector and you can prove that the items you collect are items of value (i.e. that rock collection that you created from the random pebbles of gravel from your 5th grade field trip doesn’t count…), then a CT Insurance agent at Encharter Insurance can help you insure it!

When you schedule your collection on your CT Home Insurance policy with CT Collection Insurance, it will most likely cover:

  • Loss
  • Damage
  • Theft
  • And More…

Scheduling an item on your CT Homeowners Insurance policy also means that there is no deductible!

Creating a collection of valuable items takes a lot of time and energy and it holds sentimental value. Make sure it’s protected with the right insurance and the agents at Encharter want to help make that happen!

So you’ve got that car that “takes you from A to B”—it’s your average, run-of-the-mill vehicle. You like it well enough and you appreciate it for its utility, but it’s definitely not the 1971 Porsche 911 you’re currently restoring.  A special car like that needs a special CT Car Insurance policy…not your average coverage. But where do you find such CT Antique Car Insurance?

You take the restoration of that antique vehicle very seriously and you should be dealing with an insurance agent who takes it just as seriously as you do.

The Fourth of July and CT Boat Insurance

The Fourth of July is this weekend…YES, THIS WEEKEND!  I can hardly believe it, but this means some good times in a boat, on a lake! We’re gonna kick back, relax and float the day away. And then, we’ll catch the fireworks from the middle of the lake. But it’d be a real bummer if something should damage that boat without any insurance…or even worse, if someone should get hurt while on that boat.

It’s time to talk to your CT Insurance agent at Encharter Insurance about CT Boat Insurance and even additional the liability coverage that comes with CT Umbrella Insurance. Your boat is an investment and you’ve worked hard for it! Don’t let a mishap keep that boat from you! Our agents at Encharter Insurance want to help you protect the things you’ve worked so hard for…including your boat!

When you talk to your agent about Connecticut Boat Insurance, they will tell you that the typical CT Boating Insurance policy has coverages for:

  • Medical Payments Coverage
  • Physical Damage Coverage
  • Liability Coverage

Let an agent make sense of these for you by giving us a call! It’s also possible that you and your agent decide that your liability risks are greater than the liability limits on your boat policy. If that’s the case, then you and your agent should talk about a CT Umbrella Insurance policy that will give you additional coverage, protecting you from the potential losses of a lawsuit.

Gas Prices on the Rise? Save Money on Car Insurance in CT!

Car Insurance CTThe price of gas is on the rise and that leaves consumers rethinking their travel plans and daily routines. We were hoping for consistency in gas prices after we saw them reach almost $5 a gallon in some parts of the country a couple of years ago.

Although we know gas is a necessary cost, seeing prices rise (which is not the fault of your local gas station owner according to CNN) is not a sign we like to see. Drivers will continue to knock out errands all at once and look for ways to save.

According to the CNN article, gas station owners lose 10 cents a gallon when a customer pays with a credit card because of fees the companies charge. Also, gas isn’t even the most profitable item (by percentages) at the stations. Merchandise inside the store offers a greater profit for the owners.

We thought 2008 was behind us, but who knows now. We cannot control gas prices but can look at our other spending. Many people don’t know that they can save on their Connecticut auto insurance by couple it with their CT home insurance. Moreover, being a safe driver can slash some prices off of your CT auto insurance.

Hopefully gas prices won’t continue to shoot up, but that’s about all we can do can do when it comes to the fluctuating cost of gas. Hope.

Summer is finally here and that opens up vacation times for students all across the country. College students have break and younger students have summer vacation. Many students and families alike ponder what to do during this free week with no school or homework. Some embrace the free time to stay at home, others work, others fly to a vacation spot, and others jump in the car for a lengthy ride.

Road trips can be worth it, simply because you save money on a flight. Avoiding lines at the airport doesn’t hurt either. Unfortunately, increasing gas prices has become a nuisance for drivers.

Even more of a bother than gas prices, poor planning or an accident can ruin a road trip in an instant, and hurt your Connecticut car insurance bill. Travel Sense offers some excellent tips for those trying to conquer the road: pay attention, yield anyway, don’t speed, and wear a seatbelt are just a few of their many tips.

Most importantly, the article cites an accident as the easiest way to ruin a road trip. 22 million people are injured in auto accidents every year, so adding to that statistic to begin your trip would certainly put a damper on your vacation. The last thing you want to do when expecting to hit the beach is dig up your CT insurance provider’s phone number and give us a call when you’re a few states away from Connecticut.

Remember: you’ll be on the road for hours on end so don’t waste your time pulled over exchanging CT auto insurance info! And if you are lucky enough to be traveling this summer, be safe, have a wonderful time and count on Encharter Insurance to be there when you need us!

Great Father’s Day Gift Ideas & Save Pop $$ on Insurance

Posted on 14th June 2011 by admin in CT Car Insurance |Fathers Day Gifts

I am proud to admit that I am a “Daddy’s little girl”, so when it comes to buying a gift for Father’s Day (which comes THIS SUNDAY, June 19…), this is no average run-of-the-mill gift I’m looking for—I have to let my dad know how great and unique he is to me by getting him a truly great and unique gift. This is no easy feat year after year, BUT RedEnvelope.com saves the day. If you’re looking for just the right thing to show dad your appreciation this Father’s Day, RedEnvelope.com has some items that will definitely pique your interest. Don’t get dad another plain tie or money clip for Father’s Day…how about a money clip or tie that have hidden messages in them? What about a universal remote with a bottle opener on the side or a gadget charger for the car that looks like a coffee mug? Thinking outside the box this year will make your dad feel special and he should! After all, it’s all about him on Sunday, right?

And dad works hard for his money, so he’ll be thankful, not only for your gift, but also when you tell him that the CT insurance agents at Encharter Insurance can help save him money by combining his CT Auto Insurance policy and his CT Home Insurance policy. And when you refer your dad to our agency, we’ll send you a $5 gift card to one of our Partners as a token of our appreciation.

Celebrate your dad this year with a great gift like him AND help him save some money! (That will make you his favorite for sure!! ) Here’s to dads!!

And happy shopping,

Heidi :)

CT Jet Ski Insurance & Other Jet Ski Safety Tips

CT Jet Ski InsuranceJet Skis can be lots of fun! The first time I had ever been on one was last year and it’s one of those roller coaster experiences—you’re so terrified, you’re thrilled and you’re thrilled because you’re so terrified…you’re not sure which emotion takes over, but all you know is that you’re having lots of fun!

To help make sure that you have a great time out on the water this summer, here are some Jet Ski safety tips, courtesy of JetSki.com:

  • Do not operate any watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Be on the lookout for other people, boats and other obstacles in the water.
  • Don’t stand in or on a vessel while it is in motion.
  • Don’t overload the vessel.
  • READ MORE on Jet Ski Safety Tips from JetSki.com.

Yet another way to protect you and your passengers while on a watercraft is purchasing a CT Jet Ski Insurance policy or a CT Watercraft Insurance policy. A Connecticut Boat Insurance policy will include coverage for physical damage and liability, but it’s best to talk to your local Encharter Insurance agent about tailoring a policy to your specific needs. It might even be a good idea to purchase a CT Umbrella Insurance policy, should someone get hurt while on your Jet Ski. A Connecticut Personal Umbrella Insurance policy will provide you with extra liability coverage that would protect from the losses of a potential lawsuit in the event of an accident.

Is My Home Covered If It’s Damaged When A Tornado Hits?

Posted on 9th June 2011 by admin in Connecticut Homeowner's Insurance

In light of the recent tornado occurrences in the Midwestern United States and Massachusetts, I know that a lot of you are asking yourselves, “Is my home covered if it’s damaged when a tornado hits?”

Well, it’s a good thing you asked because, according to a recent article from USA Today, you might be underinsured. It’s really important that you talk to your CT Insurance agent about the wind damage coverage on your CT Home Insurance policy. Any damage that your home would suffer from a tornado would be considered wind damage and would likely be covered under your wind damage coverage on your CT Homeowners Insurance policy. However, your Encharter Insurance agent can help reassure you that your current policy will protect you from loss, or let you know if you should increase your coverage.

Don’t let your home go one more season underinsured.  Our agents at Encharter Insurance are just waiting for your call!
