Now that Memorial Day has passed, it’s officially time to open up that pool for the season. Time to have fun in all that water, splishin’ and a-splashin’ (even if you’re not “takin’ a bath…”). Won’t it be fun to have all of your friends and family members around, get out the grill for some poolside burgers and dogs and just chill?

Pools sure can be lots of fun, but they can be huge liabilities too. The risks that a pool presents are many indeed and all for which you (the pool owner) are liable. It’s really important to review your CT Home Insurance policy with one of our Encharter Insurance agents.  They can let you know where you are at risk and how your current policy can or won’t help you in the event of an accident and they can make recommendations for improving your coverage.

When you do talk to your CT Insurance provider, also ask them about CT Personal Umbrella Insurance. An Umbrella policy will give you additional liability coverage where the liability limits on your CT Home Insurance policy may fall short. This extra liability could help protect you from the losses of a potential lawsuit should someone injure themselves on your property.
