Number Uninsured Motorists & Your CT Car Insurance

Car Insurance ConnecticutAccording to a recent article by USA Today, there is a striking number of uninsured drivers on the road in the U.S.—1 in 7, actually. Surprising, right? Especially considering the fact that most states have laws that require motorists to insure themselves, you would think the number smaller. Experts say the “economic downturn” with smaller budgets and higher unemployment rates is partly to blame.

Whatever the reason, the fact is that there are uninsured motorists out there and there are lots of them. So what can you do to protect yourself, save the impractical option of becoming a hermit?

Talk to your Connecticut Insurance agent at Encharter Insurance about your current Connecticut Auto Insurance policy. Ask them about the Uninsured Motorist Coverage (and even the Underinsured Motorist Coverage) it may provide, or maybe you’ll discover you don’t have that coverage at all. If you and your agent find that you don’t have this coverage, or that is in inadequate, this is probably something you want to reconsider.

September is always jam-packed with events: the start of the school year, the start of football, and it seems just about everything else. You wouldn’t think that you could fit any more in, but there is just one more thing…did you know that September is National Preparedness Month?

National Preparedness Month is sponsored in September of each year, sponsored by FEMA, (according to Wikipedia), “Preparedness Month encourages Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, schools, and communities. FEMA’s Ready Campaign educates and empowers Americans to prepare for, and respond to emergencies, including natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.”

It’s a good reminder to be as prepared as possible, especially in light of the natural activity in the Northeast in just a few months: Tornadoes, Earthquake, Hurricane, Flooding.  Another way to be sure that you’re prepared in the event of a natural disaster is to call your CT Insurance agent at Encharter Insurance. By talking to your agent, you can review your current coverages on your Connecticut Insurance policies and let your agent tell where there might be some vulnerability.

So, in honor of National Preparedness Month, call your Encharter Insurance agent and prepare for anything else Nature might throw at us this Fall.
