This time of year comes around and we’re all scrambling to find the perfect gifts. Let’s be honest, though…what’s better than giving a puppy? It’s like you’d be wrapping up loyalty, friendship and love in a package only it would be exploding with cuteness!

Before you go off and find that little dog that will certainly steal your heart and the heart of your family, have you considered your current CT Home Insurance policy?

As adorable and loving as your pup may be with your family, it does present its own liability risks.  What if your dog should become aggressive and attack a neighbor or friend? You would be liable for any damage caused by your dog and it won’t matter how loving you think he is with the family. Are your current liability limits enough to protect you from the losses of a potential lawsuit?

While you’re having an insurance expert at Encharter Insurance review your current CT Homeowners Insurance policy, it would be a good idea to talk to them about the newest four-legged member of your family and about additional liability coverage in the form of a CT Umbrella Insurance policy.

CT Home Insurance protects your family on ThanksgivingWith Thanksgiving around the corner, I start thinking about the question posed at my family’s Thanksgiving Day dinner table: What are you thankful for? I usually say something along the same lines each year…my family and friends and the opportunities I have been given in life. Then we move along to one of the other 30 people around the table. This year, I came across Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly: A Perfect Story for the Thanksgiving Holidays. Although it is a parenting advice blog, I still got my own message out of the story.

Gabby Giffords, a US Representative, was shot in the brain. The incredible factor in the story is her recovery. Surrounded by her husband, mother, family and therapists, she is here to tell her story today; and to continue her life to the fullest. Bottom line: she will not let blame or hate take away from her experience in life, her determination and her courage, and her appreciation for the life she can still live.

For this year’s Thanksgiving dinner, I want to really think about what I am thankful for. Many of us do not. Perhaps we should keep in mind those who are less fortunate than us before taking our life experiences for granted. Everyone has something to be thankful for. While sitting around the dinner table protected by my family’s CT Home Insurance, I promise to give a heartfelt answer. As for you, think about what you are grateful for. It may even be the protection that you provide your family, whether it’s your job, your love or your home. Protect that home with your own CT Homeowner’s Insurance. Connecticut Insurance agents can provide you with the coverage you need to keep that home (and its memories) protected year-round.

So readers, what are you thankful for?
